Each endpoint renders a template in a headless browser and returns a hosted PNG URL. auto-og reads a page first and builds the card from its title, so all it needs is the URL; card sizes the image for a platform preset such as an Instagram square or a story.
Limits worth knowing
Images are stored for 7 days at a stable URL; copy the file to your own storage if the card must outlive that.

Is there a free tier?
No. Every call is paid individually, with no plan or minimum. A request that fails validation is refused before it runs, so it is never charged.
Do I need an account or an API key?
